SAIC MAXUS eDeliver 7

2026-10-04 10:30:01

The SAIC MAXUS eDeliver 7 is a medium-sized all-electric panel van designed to bridge the market gap between the compact eDeliver 3 and the full-sized eDeliver 9. Since its global debut in 2023, the model has quickly established itself as a versatile all-rounder in European and international urban logistics, courtesy of its clever space utilisation, flexible wheelbase options, and responsive electric powertrain. By 2026, the eDeliver 7 stands as a core pillar in SAIC MAXUS's global commercial vehicle line-up, balancing "last-mile" urban delivery efficiency with the driving range required for intercity haulage.

Model Overview

Available in various wheelbase and roof height configurations (such as L1H1 and L2H1), the eDeliver 7 measures between 4,998 mm and 5,364 mm in overall length. Billed as an efficient, versatile logistics partner and a benchmark for electrified intercity transport, key highlights include a generous cargo volume of up to 8.7 m³, a payload capacity in the 1,200 kg class, a 360-degree surround-view camera, comprehensive ADAS active safety features, and high-output DC fast charging capability. By balancing payload strength with urban manoeuvrability, it serves as a complete solution for fleet operators handling both tight city drops and short-haul intercity routes.

Development History

R&D and Global Launch (2023): Developed on SAIC MAXUS's modular commercial vehicle platform, the eDeliver 7 made its global debut in 2023. It was engineered from the outset to give logistics operators an adaptable commercial platform—agile enough for narrow urban alleyways yet robust enough for heavy regional haulage.

Global Market Expansion (2024–2025): Following its showcase at major international trade events such as the IAA Transportation in Hannover, the eDeliver 7 rapidly built strong brand presence across Europe. Backed by solid reliability, the van has secured fleet procurement orders across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe.

Technological Maturity (2026 Status): Heading into 2026, the eDeliver 7 received detailed refinements, including upgraded infotainment and enhanced telematics connectivity. A more sophisticated battery thermal management system also curtails range degradation in cold weather, ensuring dependable year-round operational uptime.

Market Performance

The eDeliver 7 owes its competitive edge to a no-nonsense, pragmatic design approach. Frequently benchmarked against class rivals like the Ford E-Transit Custom, it has become a firm favourite among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in overseas markets thanks to its punchy 330 Nm of torque and accessible pricing. Fleet drivers have widely praised the passenger-car-like cabin ergonomics, which significantly reduces driver fatigue on long shifts, while a WLTP combined range of up to 360 km comfortably handles cross-city logistics runs.

Core Technologies

Powertrain Architecture: Powered by a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 150 kW (204 PS) and 330 Nm of peak torque. This setup ensures robust acceleration and confident hill-climbing performance (gradeability of up to 25%) even under full payload.

Battery and Charging: Available with either a 77 kWh or 88 kWh battery pack. Supporting up to 90 kW DC fast charging, a 20% to 80% state of charge (SoC) can be achieved in just 43 minutes under optimal conditions. It also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing it to power external tools and auxiliary equipment during operations.

Chassis and Cargo Layout: Built with front MacPherson strut suspension paired with a heavy-duty rear leaf-spring setup, striking a fine balance between unladen ride comfort and laden stability. The cargo bay adopts near-vertical sidewalls with optimised wheel arch spacing, easily accommodating standard Euro pallets with a maximum load volume of up to 8.7 m³.

Active Safety Suite: Standard safety systems include Driver Fatigue Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, delivering comprehensive driving protection in dense urban traffic.

Future Plans

SAIC MAXUS views the eDeliver 7 as a critical milestone in its commercial vehicle digitalisation roadmap. Moving forward, the brand plans to deeply integrate a digital fleet management telematics platform into the in-vehicle system, leveraging real-time data analytics to help logistics operators automatically map out optimal, energy-efficient routes. Furthermore, to cater to specialised transport needs, SAIC MAXUS is developing derivative variants, including refrigerated cold-chain vans and municipal utility vehicles, broadening its application coverage and cementing its leadership in the global transition toward commercial EV logistics.
